I am often asked many questions about the safety of some of Doggy Decadents treats. These treats look like they have chocolate in them, and everyone knows that chocolate isn't good for dogs. Well, these little chocolate chip look-a-likes are actually carob chips. Carob is a dog-safe alternative to chocolate and is actually very good for dogs and humans too. It is much healthier than chocolate because it is free of the allergenic and addictive effects of caffeine and contains much less fat. People, particularly vegetarians and healthy dieters, often substitute carob for chocolate.
